Happy Chinese New Year!
Last night, I and my family spent enough time to get passed the midnight so that we could bow to our parents for the new year.
And it has been a long time for me to watch almost the whole Chinese New Year celebration entertainment shows on CCTV. It was again very impressive.
As I'm getting older, I found that I would tear up easily and my hormonal response were more difficult to contain when I felt touched by some of the TV shows. I am especially sensitive to those stories that people wandered abroad and away from their family for a long time and reunited with their family.
Some viewers may complain about the shows were way too extravaganza, or failed on satisfying their expectations. I do agree with some of their opinions. Yes the shows must haven been way too big and expensive, may not represent the whole story of how Chinese people live. But come on, it's a new year, can we just stop being obnoxious and hypercritical for a change? It took a huge effort and ingenuity for the organizers and staff of the shows to come up with these. I think they brought holiday happiness to most of the people in the country, may in the world. So cheer up! Just enjoy.

I can't promise that I will write a reader's note after I am done, but I will definitely try.
