The recluses were identified as individualists who "escaped the world" and "disired to maintain their personal purity". The Taoists probably originated from recluses, though, they attempted to form a system of thought. And Yang Chu was proved to be the earlist exponent among them through deducing from scattered references.

1. 入世：解决混乱

I will do my duty, regardless of the results.

出世：个人解脱
