All of your VIPs, Ladies and Gentlemen:

It is my great honor to share my ideas with all of you present. I am just one ordinary parent of a grade-four girl student, who has been studying for 3 years in the Thetford School China English Learning Center at Xi’an Jiaotong University.

At the beginning, I want to share a story happened between my daughter and me:

At that time, she was about 3 years old and she was studying at a bilingual kindergarten. One day, I said to her: “My dear daughter, I want to teach you English? Do you want to study it?” My daughter opened her eyes wide and asked curiously, “Why?” I explained, “English is a very important language. If you study English, when you grow up and study abroad, you can understand what the teachers say and you can learn much knowledge.” She said “No” without any hesitation and asked, “There is so much knowledge in our country. Why should I study abroad?”

It seemed than she was full of cultural confidence. Then I adopted another strategy. I continued to said, “My dear daughter, I know you like to make friends. If you study English well, you can easily make friends with the children from other countries.” She answered, “Yes, I like making friends. But why should I study English? If they want to make friends with me, they should speak Chinese.” Once again, I was surprised at her strong self-confidence. So I temporarily gave up persuading her to study English.

Three years later, my daughter became a Grade-One primary school student. I still held that English is very important as an international language. I finally persuaded her to have a try to the predecessor of the Thetford China English Learning Center at Xi’an Jiaotong University. When she was listening to the teacher, I read through the textbooks. From my perspective, I was very satisfied with the textbooks and training program because I thought it would benefit the children by providing scientific and systematic English training. But I still wondered whether my daughter would like it or not.

When the class concluded, my daughter rushed to me, full of excitement. She spoke to me in a very loud voice, “It’s nice. I will study here!” At this time, we had the same thought. So she became one member of this training school.

How time flies. It has been three years since my daughter studied here. I don’t want to describe in detail her daily learning process. I just want to share the results:

During the past 3 years, she has never shown any disliking in English study.

In each exam at the primary school, she always at the top in her Class even in the whole grade.

She has won very good prizes at several English speaking contests.

All in all, as a parent, I feel it is luckily that my daughter has the opportunity to study in the Thetford China English Learning Center. The experience here has been benefiting her.

Here, I wish my daughter has a bright future.

Also, I also hope and believe that the Thetford China English Learning Center will be better and better. Then more and more children will benefit from program.
