冠词用法-an/a/the

The

当谈论的事物是独一无二的时候，要用the.

The Sun is a star. (太阳只有一个）

We live in a aprtment on the sixth floor.(公寓只有一个六楼）

事物的最高级要用the, 因为最高的只有一个。

It is the best hotel in town.

当特指的时候要用the

以下词一般用The

The world/the earth /the universe/the sky/the sea/the country/the ground/the internet /the theatre /the radion

当我们特指某一种类别事物的时候，要用The

The Giraffe is the tallest of all animals.

The dollar is the currency of the United States.

地名一般不用加The , 但如果地名里有 王国/共和国/州的话就需要加The.

Have you been to Canada or the United States.

各种水体的名字前面要加The ,沙漠的名称也一样

The sahara / The amazon / The atlantic

复数的人名或者地名要加The

The simpsons / the Philippines

North of /east of  xx前面要加The    ,  Northern xx 不用加the

the north of brazil   / northern brazil

街道，路，广场，公园等地名前面不用加The

fifth avenue/time square /hyde park /broadway

大部分带名字的建筑物都要加The 

The sheraton hotel /the palace theatre

带of 的名称一般要加The

the great wall of china   /the universtiy of cambridge

大部分的报纸和组织名称要加the

An/a 

可数名词前面如果非特指，一般要加an/a. 不可数名词不用加。

Do you want a banana ?  (不是do you want banana)
