威尔顿预科学院一向都是以传统、守旧的方法来教授学生，可是新学期来校的新文学老师基廷却一改学校的常规，让自己班上的学生们解放思想，充分发挥学生们的能力。告诉学生们要“把握当下”，并以该原则行事。

我希望获得深刻，吸取生命中的精华，把非生命的一切都击溃，以免当我生命终结的时候，发现自己从没有活过。
