“整理打扫”的多样表达

《生活大爆炸》S1E2里有个情节：

晚上，谢尔顿强迫症发作，一想到自己的家门外就是乱糟糟的潘妮的家他就睡不着，所以偷偷潜入潘妮的家里收拾打扫。

straighten up的意思是“使整齐；整理”。

You should straighten up your room before going out.

出门前你应该把房间收拾整齐。

比喻意也有“改邪归正，改过自新”的意思。

You'd better straighten up or else!

你最好改邪归正，否则有你好看的！

不过很多时候我们说整理打扫，用的是tidy：

I'm tired of asking you to tidy your room (up).

老是叫你收拾房间，我都厌烦了。
