Type 1 diabetes is a true endocrine disorder because it involves a lack of production of insulin by the islet cells of the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes has the same symptoms but has an intact pancreas with elevated blood sugar levels caused by cellular resistance to insulin and not due to (pancreatic) insufficiency 不健全的
