绘本讲师训练营【17期】3/21阅读原创《dinosaur roar！》

Yesterday I read this book for Simon who is a dinosaur big fan. To be honest, I am not a dinosaur big fan, so I don’t know how to introduce the dinosaurs in the book to the 3year-old boy. Finally, I had a good idea. I will tell you later.

<dinosaur roar!>by Paul & Henrietta Strickland. It is about dinosaurs of every size, shape, color and personality thunder through the pages of this fun-filled book of opposites. Whether long or short, ferocious or friendly, there’s a dinosaur here to captivate everyone! The infectious rhythm of the bold rhythming text will have every child ROARING for more!

Step One. Warm up

Sing a song together

Step two. Read the book

We talked about the dinosaur on each page, such as, is it big or small? what color is it? How many dinosaurs in the picture? How do they feel? which dinosaur do you like? Do you want to make friends with it? So on. Though I skipped some tricky words for such young kid, for example, meek, slimy, grumpy. Simon liked to roar so much. He couldn’t stop roaring until we went to bed.

And we had a lot of fun to play dinosaurs yesterday, I was a mummy dinosaur, Simon was a little dinosaur. I said “ I am mummy dinosaur, I am long, very long.” I encouraged Simon to say, “I am a little dinosaur, I am short.” Then gived him a kiss. He was very happy. That’s the way how I introduce the dinosaurs to my son.

At the end, we reviewed the dinosaurs again. It’s difficult for Simon to remember all adjectives about the dinosaurs, but he tried hard to read after me. Nice!
