What gives

You have not been posting much lately. What gives?

你近来不怎么发文，为什么呢？

【what gives】—— 这是口语的表达式。用在询问对方，是【什么原因导致】对方出现某种现象，或做出某个举动。

字典里的例子：

You have been acting weird all week. What gives?

你整个星期都怪怪的，发生了什么事？
