读经笔记 14 - Genesis 3: 20 ~ 24

创3:20 亚当给他妻子起名叫夏娃，因为她是众生之母。

Now the man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.

创3:21 耶和华神为亚当和他妻子用皮子作衣服给他们穿。

The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

创3:22 耶和华神说，那人已经与我们相似，能知道善恶。现在恐怕他伸手又摘生命树的果子吃，就永远活着。

Then the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"--

创3:23 耶和华神便打发他出伊甸园去，耕种他所自出之土。

therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

创3:24 于是把他赶出去了。又在伊甸园的东边安设基路伯和四面转动发火焰的剑，要把守生命树的道路。

So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

今天才意识到夏娃的名字原来是上帝给起的，而且受中文翻译的影响，一直以为英文是Eva，没想到是Eve。 Eve是夜晚，前夜的意思啊，神为什么要给她取这样一个古怪的名字呢？是否预示着这女人的到来将会迎来重要的事情发生？

eve: the evening or day before a special day; the period just before an important event

Behold: to perceive through sight or apprehension; to gaze upon 

behold 有凝视，注视的意思，圣经的和合本里常翻译做看哪，每次behold出现时，好像都跟神的意思有关，要特别关注。

Us: 这里用复数，三个位格的神，实在是人所不能完全认识的。

当人犯错误时，喜欢用自己的方式去弥补（用无花果树的叶子遮盖身体）。殊不知在神眼里，罪必须用血来赎。神给人预备的真正的用于遮盖人犯罪的皮子衣服就是基督。用动物的皮做赎罪，表明了赎罪祭必须有流血，有牺牲。

cultivate: to prepare or prepare and use for the raising of crops  耕作，栽培

cherubim plural : an order of angels

a traditional hierarchy of angels ranked from lowest to highest into the following nine orders: angels, archangels, principalities, powers, virtues, dominions, thrones, cherubim, and seraphim

cherub: a type of angel that is usually shown in art as a beautiful young child with small wings and a round face and body

原来, 《圣经》中让我一直很不解到底是啥样子的基路伯就是那种娃娃样，背后长有一对小翅膀的小天使，在艺术作品中常看到的那种。
