Or were they saying Salty Rat instead?

Aside from sowing seeds,

You spread pollen from petal to petal,

You also curb the numbers of insects, 

And you inspired the mankind to invent the radar.

You sleep in the day but come out in the dark -

A Batman you are!

Yet who can imagine of so many people devouring you!

And then "crowning" you as the host of coronavirus,

And blaming you as the root and cause

Of the Third World War!

SARS is attributed to the masked civet,

And Covid-19 to bats!

Greed knows no boundary,

A snake may well be toying with the thought

Of gobbling an elephant raw!
