当年屈子赋离骚，

That year Qu Yuan wrote a long poem "Li Sao"

手里无权笔作刀。

Without power he had to utilise his pen as a sword

岂怪怀王难纳谏，

No wonder King Chu-Huai refused to take good advice

未明郑袖会阿娇。

Unclear the King’s concubine Zheng Xiu deluded him into a wrong decision

碑林庙宇昭前史，

Forest of Steles with the temple reveals history

书院楼台复旧朝。

Towers and academy of classical learning retell the old kingdom’s story

江上龙舟今不见，

No dragon boats can be seen on the river today

空余山水枉妖娆。

No matter how enchanting the landscape is, it is in vain
