豹豹和你一起读原版–查理和巧克力工厂第二章
第二章也不长，主要就是描写Mr. Willy Wobka这个神奇的制造商了。开头就写到查理家的四个老人因为年纪太大每天只能病歪歪在床上，只有小查理放学回来看他们才会焕发青春。They were as shrivelled as prunes, and as bony as skeletons, and throughout the day, until Charlie made his appearance,……这里prune是指a dried plum李子干，梅干。挺形象的。说到干果蜜饯豹豹想起来的词还有walnut,apricot seed, almond等等。
He was the only bright thing in their lives, and his evening visits were something that they looked forward to all day long.这句话写的实在太好了，已经进入到我的笔记本了。
It’s about fifty times as big as any other!它是其他工厂的五十倍大，第二章里面出现了好几次的as…as的用法。
关于as…as的词条:
1.in positive sentences and in questions
I came here as fast as I could.
2.twice as …as/three times as …as 与文中用法一致
3. we use 'the same as'而不是the same like
4.not as…(as)后一个是可省的。
‘Clever!’ cried the old man. ‘He’s more than that! He’s a magician with chocolate! …'何止是聪明啊。另外fact也是N-VAR 可变名词
When you refer to something as a fact or as fact, you mean that you think it is true or correct
所以文中出现了isn't that a fact?
Absolutely true. Just as true as can be.这句话让豹豹想起了美女与野兽的歌词Tale as old as time, true as it can be.表示千真万确
he has himself invented more than two hundred new kinds of chocolate bars, each with a different centre, each far sweeter and creamier and more delicious than anything the other chocolate factories can make!这句话太带感了。每一种巧克力都有不同的夹心，而且都比别人家的滋味更甜美更有口感。
He has some really fantastic inventions up his sleeve,... sth. up one's sleeve其实是个俚语翻译成中文叫袖里乾坤，真的很形象。
文中出现的icebox可以理解成freezer refrigerator fridge冰柜冰箱
day前面有形容词修饰，介词用on.所以是在大热天巧克力冰淇淋也不会化，on a hot day
另外复习了几个甜食，marshmallows caramel, candy balloon 棉花糖，焦糖，泡泡糖。突然想知道焦糖玛奇朵怎么说
焦糖玛奇朵（英文：Caramel Macchiato）是在香浓热牛奶上加入浓缩咖啡、香草，再淋上纯正焦糖而制成的饮品，融合三种不同口味。Macchiato意大利文，意思是“烙印”和“印染”，中文音译“玛奇朵”。“Caramel”意思是焦糖。焦糖玛琪朵，寓意“甜蜜的印记”。来自百度百科

最后就是Grandpa Joe paused and ran the point of his tongue slowly over his lips. ‘It makes my mouth water just thinking about it,’ he said.舌头尖不仅仅可以用the tip of the tongue 啊，受教了。
就是这些，后面也恹恹不想再弄了。
想了想，又安装了。毕竟想起来了更两句，也算是逼迫自己进行一下简单读物的精读吧。过多的也不想说了，心塞。
