They had labouredfor three years to produce this floating work of art; she was more richlycarved and ornamented than any previous ship. The high stern castle was a riotof carved gods, demons, knights, kings, warriors, mermaids, cherubs; andzoomorphic animal shapes ablaze with red and gold and blue, symbols of courage,power, and cruelty, were portrayed to stir the imaginations of thesuperstitious sailors of the day.

练习感悟：今天的生词，三十多个，实在不知道该怎么说，只能说是被吓坏了。不过，还好，只是朗读的话，跟读个十几遍，基本也就记住了读音，读起来并不是特别拗口，最终录了三四遍左右就达标了。
