M: I took a vacation last night.
我昨晚放了个假。
F: What are you talking about? Where did you take your vacation?
你在说什么？你在哪里度假的？
M: I didn't go anywhere. I just spent an evening without my smartphone.
我哪儿也没去，我只是度过了一个没有手机的夜晚。
F: How was it?
感觉怎样？
M: It was great! I got a real magazine and read it with no interruption. It was very peaceful!
非常棒！我看了一本真正的杂志，一口气读完了。非常宁静！
F: Yes, I haven't done that in a long time.
是的，我有很长时间没那样做了。
M: You know what? I'm beginning to hate smartphones.
你知道吗？我开始讨厌手机了。
F: Really? but you can't live without one, right?
真的吗？但是你离不开它，对吧？
M: Yes, that's the problem. These things are changing the way people live.
是的，这就是问题所在。这些物品正在改变人们的生活方式。

F: Yes, I just saw a documentary about that. A husband was complaining to his wife that she was spending too much time on her smartphone.
是的，我刚看了一部相关的纪录片。一位丈夫向妻子抱怨，她花了太多时间在手机上。
M: What happened? Did they get a divorce?
后来呢？他们离婚了吗？
F: You guessed it. In the end, they got a divorce.

M: It's a bit ironic, don't you think? Smartphone were supposed to bring people together, but they are pulling people apart.
这有点讽刺，你不觉得吗？手机本应拉近人们的距离，结果却让人们分开。
F: Yes, you are right.
是的，你说得对。
M: Hey, just a minute. I've got a message on my smartphone, and it can't wait.
嘿，等一下。我手机上有一条信息，不能耽误。
