2018年尔湾全球村文化节

9/22/2018的上午，清晨的加州阳光已经使温度迅速提升，让人热得难以接受。但今天又是一个对我来说的大日子，这是我当选为华人跨文化协会Youth Club副会长后组织的第一次活动。
On the morning of 9/22/2018, early morning California sunshine has sent temperatures soaring beyond acceptable levels. But today is another big day for me. This is the first activity I organized after I was elected as vice President of Youth Club of Chinese intercultural associati.

每年一度“尔湾全球村节”盛大开幕的日子总是安排在收获的秋季，2018年是“尔湾全球村文化节”的第17个年头了。这是尔湾市规模最大、最受欢迎的社区活动，被公认为是洛杉矶橙县最好的文化节，会有超过100多场代表不同种族、不同国家的文艺表演在一天之内在各个场地同时进行。Irvine人口种族有多么多样化呢？ 58％的Irvine家庭使用非英语语言，在整个Irvine家庭中使用了70多种不同的语言。 Irvine City内近40％的公立学校学生拥有英语以外的主要语言。Irvine还拥有80多座不同的教堂，清真寺，犹太教堂和其他礼拜场所，为Irvine的精彩文化和宗教多样性提供服务。
The grand opening of the annual erwan global village festival is always held in the autumn of harvest, and 2018 is the 17th year of the erwan global village culture festival. This is the largest and most popular community event in the city of irvine. It is widely regarded as the best cultural festival in orange county, Los Angeles. How diverse is the population of Irvine? Fifty-eight percent of the Irvine family spoke non-english, and more than 70 different languages were spoken in the entire Irvine family. Nearly 40 percent of public school students in Irvine City speak a major language other than English. Irvine also has more than 80 different churches, mosques, synagogues and other places of worship, serving Irvine's wonderful cultural and religious diversity. 尔湾全球文化村-2.jpg
而本次活动也是第一次在Great Park 举行，Great Park是尔湾最新建造的一个大型公园供居民们娱乐。在协会创始人雅歌的努力下我们“华人跨文化协会青年俱乐部”能够争取到一个摊位的机会，让我们的club让更多的人知道。周五晚上五点我们就来到现场开始做一些最基本的准备：比如准备好海报啊，设计好摊位的摆设，最重要的还是做好了许多的装饰品能够把我们摊位装饰的十分好看。我们把摊位分成了四个部分， 分别是：展览区|、书法区、游戏区和报名区，希望能给参加展会的各国人群展示我们中国部分传统文化。
Today marks the first time the event has been held in Great Park, the newest large Park in the bay for residents to enjoy. We are very lucky to have Alice who is the founder of our organization won the opportunity of a booth, so that our club can let more people know. We arrived at the site at 5 o'clock on Friday evening and started to make some basic preparations, such as preparing the posters, designing the decoration of the booth, and most importantly, preparing a lot of decorations to make our booth look beautiful. We divided the booth into four parts: exhibition area, calligraphy area, game area and registration area. I hope we can show our Chinese culture to the people passing by.
超过40家橙县甚至洛杉矶的餐厅为民众提供各地美食小吃：台湾波霸奶茶、日本味噌汤、中东炸豆丸子Falafel、墨西哥Taco、德国蝴蝶脆饼 pretzel、韩国饺子、夏威夷刨冰、培根包裹的热狗等全球美食应有尽有，所有小吃食物的价格是 尔湾全球文化村-3.jpg
过节当然也少不了购物喽，文化节特别开设了国际大市场。来自尔湾本地以及其它地区的商户均会出售来自世界各地的品位独特的礼品、艺术品、工艺品、以及纺织品，其中有代表性的包括西藏地区的手工唐塔作品、印度的锡器、埃及的银器等。
Of course, there are also festivals shopping, the cultural festival opened a special international market. Local and regional merchants from erwan will sell gifts, artworks, handicrafts and textiles of unique taste from all over the world. Typical products include Tibetan handmade tang ta, Indian tin and Egyptian silver.
Demonstrations也就是现场演示，表演者将互动，教育和娱乐相结合，手把手带领观众进行文化艺术、手工、乐器、舞蹈、武术等方面的有趣尝试。
A demonstration is a live demonstration. The performer combines interaction, education and entertainment, and leads the audience to make interesting attempts in culture and art, handicrafts, Musical Instruments, dance and martial arts. 尔湾全球文化村-4.jpg
在文化节的中心区域是社区合作伙伴，当天还包括尔湾市警察局、消防局尔湾巴克莱剧场、棒球联盟Irvine Ranch Little League在内的各个非营利性社区组织和政府部门将向民众展示各自都有哪些具体的便民和公益活动。
The center of the festival is a community partnership, and various nonprofit community organizations and government departments, including the bay city police department, the bay barclays theater, and the baseball League Irvine Ranch Little League, will show people what specific civic and public interest activities they have. 尔湾全球文化村-5.jpg
而我们也是众多非盈利机构之一，在这其中我们通过努力发出了不少的传单，希望会有更多与我们志同道合的伙伴们能够积极的加入我们吧。在这次活动中，我看到了许多孩子们的笑脸，当他们笑着拿着小奖品，或是看着自己写出来的“杰作”。他们脸上的那一抹笑容让我觉得这所有的一切都是值得的。同时我也真正了解到了当地人越来越重视中国文化。因为不止一次的有白人或是其他人种的朋友们来询问是否有提供中文的课程，或是希望我们能给他们介绍一些好吃的中国餐馆。
We are also one of the many non-profit organizations, in which we issued many leaflets through efforts, hoping that more of our like-minded partners will actively join us. At this event, I saw the smiling faces of many children, as they were holding small prizes, or looking at their "masterpieces". The smile on their faces made me think it was all worth it. At the same time, I also learned that local people are paying more and more attention to Chinese culture. More than once, friends of white or other RACES came to ask if there were any Chinese classes or if we could introduce them to some good Chinese restaurants. 尔湾全球文化村-6.jpg
