大家学习英文的时候，有没有被这六个词所迷惑过？他们是：neither, either, both, any, all, and none。

其实，每个词都有一个自己的性格，这六个词也不例外哦。下面就让小编给大家透析一下！

1. either和both是六胞胎中非常相像的一对。both表示两者都，either表示两者中任意一个。大家看下面的两个段子：

I would like to have both coffee and soda to kick-start my day. They are both stimulating (增强活力的) drinks.

I would like to have either coffee or soda to kick-start my day. Either is stimulating.

第一段的前半段说，咖啡和苏打兼要。而第二段的前半段里，咖啡和苏打不可兼得，只能取一个。

大家要注意的是，两个段子的后半段意思基本一致，都是说这两种饮料都可以增强活力。只不过，两段采取了不同的表达方式而已。

所以，either和both有异也有同。性格上来说，both 比 either更 generous (慷慨)，而either 更 selective (挑剔) 一些。

2. neither 表示两者都不。和刚刚介绍的两个代词姐妹相比，neither 的性格像一个 icy queen (冰冷女王)。大家可以参考下面的句子：

Both coffee and soda can lift my spirits, but I want neither of them for my breakfast.

咖啡和苏打都可以提起我的精神，BUT 我谁都不要。

3. 理解了前面的三胞胎，剩下的三个就容易多了。

all 和 both 意义相近，但是 all 包含三者以上，而 both 只有两者。

none 和 neither 意义相近，但是 none 包含三者以上，而 neither 只有两者。

没错，any 是 三者(或以上)中任何一个，而 either 只有两者。

例如：The old lady has six daughters, and she loves any one of them. (老太太有六个女儿，她爱她们中的任何一个人。)
