来点前奏说明

当你打开这个文档的时候,你已经做好准备了,话不多说开搞。
本文以Android 9.0 版本进行分析,我是下载过源码,当然你也可以在线看源码
在线源码查看
Android源码下载编译
在此特别说明,我这篇主要分析流程和注释。我把英语注释也粘贴了,大家自己去翻译自己消化,个人意见重点是流程+注释,流程+注释,流程+注释。

产生Handler原因:
  • 主线程不能做耗时操作
  • 子线程不能更新UI
分析入口ActivityThread的main方法

ActivityThread就是我们常说的主线程或UI线程,ActivityThread的main方法是整个APP的入口,这个(main里面的attach这里) 也是Activity启动分析的入口。有童鞋问这个文件目录在哪,frameworks/base/core/java/android/app/ActivityThread.java

    public static void main(String[] args) {
        ... ...
        Looper.prepareMainLooper();

        // Find the value for {@link #PROC_START_SEQ_IDENT} if provided on the command line.
        // It will be in the format "seq=114"
        long startSeq = 0;
        if (args != null) {
            for (int i = args.length - 1; i >= 0; --i) {
                if (args[i] != null && args[i].startsWith(PROC_START_SEQ_IDENT)) {
                    startSeq = Long.parseLong(
                            args[i].substring(PROC_START_SEQ_IDENT.length()));
                }
            }
        }
        ActivityThread thread = new ActivityThread();
        thread.attach(false, startSeq);

        if (sMainThreadHandler == null) {
            sMainThreadHandler = thread.getHandler();
        }

        if (false) {
            Looper.myLooper().setMessageLogging(new
                    LogPrinter(Log.DEBUG, "ActivityThread"));
        }

        Looper.loop();

        throw new RuntimeException("Main thread loop unexpectedly exited");
    }
1-1、主线程Looper的prepareMainLooper()方法
  • 主要看注释,注释看个几遍不为过,先看下Looper的注释。
/**
  * Class used to run a message loop for a thread. Threads by default do
  * not have a message loop associated with them; to create one, call
  * {@link #prepare} in the thread that is to run the loop, and then
  * {@link #loop} to have it process messages until the loop is stopped.
  *
  * <p>Most interaction with a message loop is through the
  * {@link Handler} class.
  *
  * <p>This is a typical example of the implementation of a Looper thread,
  * using the separation of {@link #prepare} and {@link #loop} to create an
  * initial Handler to communicate with the Looper.
  *
  * <pre>
  *  class LooperThread extends Thread {
  *      public Handler mHandler;
  *
  *      public void run() {
  *          Looper.prepare();
  *
  *          mHandler = new Handler() {
  *              public void handleMessage(Message msg) {
  * // process incoming messages here
  *              }
  *          };
  *
  *          Looper.loop();
  *      }
  *  }</pre>
  */
  • prepareMainLooper()方法
  /**
     * Initialize the current thread as a looper, marking it as an
     * application's main looper. The main looper for your application
     * is created by the Android environment, so you should never need
     * to call this function yourself.  See also: {@link #prepare()}
     */

    public static void prepareMainLooper() {
        prepare(false);
        synchronized (Looper.class) {
            if (sMainLooper != null) {
                throw new IllegalStateException("The main Looper has already been prepared.");
            }
            sMainLooper = myLooper();
        }
    }
1-1-1、 prepare()方法,还是主要看注释,注释看个几遍不为过。

false表示主线程不准许退出,主动掉prepare()值为true。这里的quitAllowed参数,最终会传递给MessageQueue,当调用MessageQueue的quit方法时,会判断这个参数,如果是主线程,也就是quitAllowed参数为false时,会抛出异常。

    /** Initialize the current thread as a looper.
      * This gives you a chance to create handlers that then reference
      * this looper, before actually starting the loop. Be sure to call
      * {@link #loop()} after calling this method, and end it by calling
      * {@link #quit()}.
      */
    public static void prepare() {
        prepare(true);
    }

    private static void prepare(boolean quitAllowed) {
        if (sThreadLocal.get() != null) {
            throw new RuntimeException("Only one Looper may be created per thread");
        }
        sThreadLocal.set(new Looper(quitAllowed));
    }

sThreadLocal的变量定义,继续看注释。

// sThreadLocal.get() will return null unless you've called prepare().
    static final ThreadLocal<Looper> sThreadLocal = new ThreadLocal<Looper>();
1-1-2、ThreadLocal的set和get方法,主要实现线程的单例,上面是Looper的单例。
  • 先看下人家写这个类的注释,我特意百度了一下这个人。他是Google 的首席 Java 架构师人物介绍
/**
 * This class provides thread-local variables. These variables differ from
 * their normal counterparts in that each thread that accesses one (via its
 * {@code get} or {@code set} method) has its own, independently initialized
 * copy of the variable. {@code ThreadLocal} instances are typically private
 * static fields in classes that wish to associate state with a thread (e.g.,
 * a user ID or Transaction ID).
 *
 * <p>For example, the class below generates unique identifiers local to each
 * thread.
 * A thread's id is assigned the first time it invokes {@code ThreadId.get()}
 * and remains unchanged on subsequent calls.
 * <pre>
 * import java.util.concurrent.atomic.AtomicInteger;
 *
 * public class ThreadId {
 * // Atomic integer containing the next thread ID to be assigned
 *     private static final AtomicInteger nextId = new AtomicInteger(0);
 *
 * // Thread local variable containing each thread's ID
 *     private static final ThreadLocal&lt;Integer&gt; threadId =
 *         new ThreadLocal&lt;Integer&gt;() {
 *             &#64;Override protected Integer initialValue() {
 *                 return nextId.getAndIncrement();
 *         }
 *     };
 *
 * // Returns the current thread's unique ID, assigning it if necessary
 *     public static int get() {
 *         return threadId.get();
 *     }
 * }
 * </pre>
 * <p>Each thread holds an implicit reference to its copy of a thread-local
 * variable as long as the thread is alive and the {@code ThreadLocal}
 * instance is accessible; after a thread goes away, all of its copies of
 * thread-local instances are subject to garbage collection (unless other
 * references to these copies exist).

    }
1-1-4、setInitialValue()方法
    /**

1-1-5、initialValue()方法

     *
     * <p>This implementation simply returns {@code null}; if the
     * programmer desires thread-local variables to have an initial

1-1-7、Looper的构造方法。

1-1-8、MessageQueue的构造方法。

3-1-4、Handler
/**
 * A Handler allows you to send and process {@link Message} and Runnable
 * objects associated with a thread's {@link MessageQueue}.  Each Handler
 * instance is associated with a single thread and that thread's message
 * queue. When you create a new Handler, it is bound to the thread /
 * message queue of the thread that is creating it -- from that point on,
 * it will deliver messages and runnables to that message queue and execute
 * them as they come out of the message queue.
 *
 * <p>There are two main uses for a Handler: (1) to schedule messages and
 * runnables to be executed as some point in the future; and (2) to enqueue
 * an action to be performed on a different thread than your own.
 *
 * <p>Scheduling messages is accomplished with the
 * {@link #post}, {@link #postAtTime(Runnable, long)},
 * {@link #postDelayed}, {@link #sendEmptyMessage},
 * {@link #sendMessage}, {@link #sendMessageAtTime}, and
 * {@link #sendMessageDelayed} methods.  The <em>post</em> versions allow
 * you to enqueue Runnable objects to be called by the message queue when
 * they are received; the <em>sendMessage</em> versions allow you to enqueue
 * a {@link Message} object containing a bundle of data that will be
 * processed by the Handler's {@link #handleMessage} method (requiring that
 * you implement a subclass of Handler).
 *
 * <p>When posting or sending to a Handler, you can either
 * allow the item to be processed as soon as the message queue is ready
 * to do so, or specify a delay before it gets processed or absolute time for
 * it to be processed. The latter two allow you to implement timeouts,
 * ticks, and other timing-based behavior.
 *
 * <p>When a
 * process is created for your application, its main thread is dedicated to
 * running a message queue that takes care of managing the top-level
 * application objects (activities, broadcast receivers, etc) and any windows
 * they create. You can create your own threads, and communicate back with
 * the main application thread through a Handler. This is done by calling
 * the same <em>post</em> or <em>sendMessage</em> methods as before, but from
 * your new thread. The given Runnable or Message will then be scheduled
 * in the Handler's message queue and processed when appropriate.

mHandler.sendEmptyMessageDelayed(DRAG_SHOW,1500);

4-1-3、最终都会走到sendMessageAtTime()
    /**
     * Enqueue a message into the message queue after all pending messages
     * before the absolute time (in milliseconds) <var>uptimeMillis</var>.
     * <b>The time-base is {@link android.os.SystemClock#uptimeMillis}.</b>
     * Time spent in deep sleep will add an additional delay to execution.
     * You will receive it in {@link #handleMessage}, in the thread attached
     * to this handler.
     *
     * @param uptimeMillis The absolute time at which the message should be
     *         delivered, using the
     *         {@link android.os.SystemClock#uptimeMillis} time-base.
     *
     * @return Returns true if the message was successfully placed in to the
     * message queue. Returns false on failure, usually because the
     * looper processing the message queue is exiting. Note that a
     * result of true does not mean the message will be processed -- if
     * the looper is quit before the delivery time of the message
     * occurs then the message will be dropped.
     */

4-1-4、enqueueMessage()
    private boolean enqueueMessage(MessageQueue queue, Message msg, long uptimeMillis) {
        msg.target = this;
        if (mAsynchronous) {
            msg.setAsynchronous(true);

4-1-5、MessageQueue的enqueueMessage()这里面根据时间将消息插入合适的链表中

                Log.w(TAG, e.getMessage(), e);
                msg.recycle();
                return false;

                // up the event queue unless there is a barrier at the head of the queue

                needWake = mBlocked && p.target == null && msg.isAsynchronous();
                Message prev;
                for (;;) {

                    if (needWake && p.isAsynchronous()) {
                        needWake = false;
                    }
                }
                msg.next = p; // invariant: p == prev.next
                prev.next = msg;
            }

            // We can assume mPtr != 0 because mQuitting is false.
            if (needWake) {

            }
