5. (1) Thank sb. for sth. 意为“因为某事而感谢某人”；

  (2) Thanks (a lot) for sth.!意为“因为某事而（非常）感谢”。

  e.g.Thank you for your help.

          Thanks for your help!

6. and，but和or的用法及辨析：

  (1)and ”和，而且”，前后状况一样或相似；用于肯定句；

e.g. Tom likes basketball and I also like basketball.

        Tom is outgoing and hardworking.

        =Tom is outgoing and he is also hardworking.

  (2)but “但是”,表示转折，前后状况不一样或是相反；

    e.g. Tom likes basketball, but I like baseball.

            Tom is hardworking, but he is careless.

  (3)or “或者”，表示选择关系；通常用于否定句和疑问句；

    e.g. Tom doesn’t like apples or oranges.

            Would you like to drink juice or water?

7. interesting 与fun 的区别：

(1)interesting只能作形容词，表示某物或东西有趣，只能修饰物，不能修饰人；

(2)fun既可以作形容词也可以作名词，作形容词时表示某物有趣或好玩；作名词时表示“有趣的人，玩笑，娱乐，乐趣”。

e.g. I have an interesting book.

      I havea fun weekend.

      Tom is great fun.

      Have fun!

8. like doing sth.与 like to do sth.的区别

  (1)like doing sth.喜欢的是一项业余爱好；

  (2) like to do sth.喜欢偶尔做一件事情。

  e.g. Tom likes playing basketball, but today he likes to play football.

9. It’s late to do sth. = It’s

late for (doing) sth.意为“做某事迟到了”。

  e.g. It’s late to go to school.

          = It’s late for school.
