How was your day? 转眼间又到了周六啦，小伙伴们是不是很开心啊，今天中午考了商务英语竞赛，这个是任何专业的学生都可以报考的比赛。因为本身自己是商务英语专业的，所以争取能在大学多考几个相关证书。好啦，先不和大家聊啦，快快来学习打卡吧🌝

A: Oh, I don’t know if you heard, but someone moved
into that old house down the road.
B: Yeah, I know. I met the owner of the house yesterday
as he was moving in. His name is Armand.
A: Really? What’s he like? You have to fill me in.
B: Actually, he’s a bit strange. I don’t know... I’ve got
a bad feeling about him.
A: Really? Why?
B: Well, yesterday I brought over a housewarming gift,but Armand started acting really weird, and then he practically kicked me out! I tried to, sort of, peek into his house, but everything was so dark inside that I couldn’t really get a good look.
A: Well, you’ll never guess what I saw this morning.
A delivery truck pulled into his driveway, and it dropped off a long, rectangular box. It almost looked like a coffin!
B: You see! Why would he...
C: Hello ladies...
B: Ah, Armand! You scared the heck out of me! This
is my friend Doris.
C: A pleasure to meet you...If you are not doing anything tonight, I would like to have you both for dinner.I mean...I would like to have you both over for dinner.
The next part is 重点单词，句型讲解。
1.fill someone in 告诉某人某事

2.peek into 窥视

- scare the heck out of me 吓死我了
the heck 是 the hell / the crap 的文雅版，加重语气
e.g. Stop popping up like this! You scared the heck out of me!
不要再这样蹦出来好么！人都被你给吓死了！
同时关于被吓到的口语表达还有：
(1) freaked out 吓坏了
e.g. I don't do this normally. I mean, I was totally freaked out.
我平时不这样的，我当时真的是吓坏了
(2) creep someone out 吓出魂来了
e.g. That perv was really creeping me out.
那变态可把我给吓坏了
(3) break out in a cold sweat 吓到出冷汗
e.g. The minute he passed out, I broke out in a cold sweat.
他晕倒那一刻，我被吓出了一身冷汗
4.over for dinner 共进晚餐
