Today marks the 202nd birth anniversary of Henry David Thoreau, who was an American essayist, poet and philosopher best known for his book Walden, a reflection upon simple living in perfect harmony with nature. Thoreau's books, articles, poetry and essays amount to more than 20 volumes, including "Civil Disobedience," "Slavery in Massachusetts," and "The Maine Woods."
