Writing | Robots in Society
According to the International Federation of Robotics, China has had the most industrial robots in operation globally since 2016 and has been the world’s largest industrial robot market for four consecutive years. The global market share of Chinese-made robots has surpassed 30%, with the majority are applied to.automobile manufacturing, electronics, household electrical appliances, and logistics. Beyond that, intelligent home robots, for instance floor mopping robots, are becoming relatively common day by day.
I feel that robots are not very far away from us that we can see service robots easily at shopping malls, public buildings etc. and I believe it will soon be a daily necessity for every family. I'd be glad to have it doing housework for me. As for the industries which replaced the position of general workers with robots, the production efficiency may be increased. While a lot of workers have to lose their job. It's cruel, but it's inevitable and difficult to tell if it's negative or positive impact to our society. Because people lose job and people create new possibility at the same time, due to the emergence of robots.
I'd say it's only the start of robot era, that our robotic technologies need continuous development before it can take the place of human being in the field of thinking. That'll be true robot intelligence when they can mimic human's mental activities and I believe it's just a matter of time.
