2019-08-27 To kill a mockingbird

在回来的飞机上看完了这本书，时差还没调过来，晕晕乎乎的墨迹到了现在来写小结，这本书有很多打动我的地方，语言也很棒，尽管有很多拿捏不准的，这篇先把语言这个板块写了吧。

Dill left us early in September, to return to Meridian. We saw him off on the five o'clock but and I was miserable without him until it occurred to me that I would be starting school in a week. I never looked forward more to anything in my life. Hours of wintertime had found me in the treehouse, looking over at the school yard, spying on multitudes of children through a two-power telescope Jem had given me, learning their games, following Jem's red jacket through wriggling circles of blind man's buff, secretly sharing their misfortunes and minor victories. I longed to join them.

我喜欢这段话，因为她把小女孩细腻的心思都描述出来，那种“除了他，我一生别无他求”的心态都融合在了那些景色和场景里。而在语言的运用上，hours of wintertime had found me 这样的以“物”为主语，“见证”了人的变化的这样的方式，在很多场景我们都可以去模仿借鉴。

Miss Caroline stood stock still, then grabbed me by the collar and hauled me back to her desk.

stock still 静止的;一动不动的；If someone stands or sits stock-still, they do not move at all. 

这三个s放在一起就觉得特别整齐，不论从图像上还是从读音上都给人这个句子传递出的意思的感觉。

A storm of laughter broke loose when it finally occurred to the class that Miss Caroline had whipped me.

a storm of laughter/ applause / 

break/ cut/ tear/ let/ hang/ stay loose 

这两个搭配起来，不但形象，而且比较贴切，把想要表达的意思很准确的表达出来了。

Miss Caroline watched the class file out for lunch.
