Train your mind to notice when you are not focused.

Instead of telling yourself  to focus, ask:

where are you right now?

and is that where you want to be right now?

all of a sudden the world doesn’t feel as dire.

like, oh, I’m over here. I think I want to be over there instead. I think that’s what I should be doing right now, is being over there.

It’s a different relationship.This is befriending your mind, in a way that allows it to be used to your benefit.
