群里有人发了一个例句：Video games don't count. Justin老师说这里的count跟我们每日一句中的用法不一样，我又重新调查了一下count作动词的几种用法，记录如下：

1） to say numbers in the correct order

这里做不及物动词，意思就是数数，比如Bill can't count yet.

2）to calculate the total number of people, things, etc. in a particular group

这里可及物也可不及物，强调算出来总数，比如Bill can't count calories of his diet.

3）to include sb/sth when you calculate a total

这里做及物动词，比如count me in.

4）to be important

这个意思是我们每日一词中学到的，做不及物动词，可与matter互换，比如Diligence counts/matters more than talent.

5）to be officially accepted; to accept sth officially

这里的用法就是微信群里提到的，可及物也可不及物，比如Don't go over that line or your throw won't count.

6）to consider sb/sth in a particular way; to be considered in a particular way

这里可及物也可不及物，可与consider互换，比如I count him among closest friends.
