The most effective way to learn

I told my daughter that using English in day to day life will increase the opportunities to practice English. She said her vocabulary is not enough to use it in daily life. I said, use the words you have know to express what you want, even if it seems silly, you can still express yourself.

I read a little comic story earlier and told it to my daughter. A Chinese guy came to America, he stayed in a hotel, the room didn't seem very good, his English wasn't very well, but he needed help, so he called to the waiter "Do you know Tom and Jerry?", the waiter said "Yes, it's a famous cartoon, how can I help you?", "Yes, Jerry is in my room now, could you come over with Tom to get Jerry out?", "Sorry, I don't understand. Um... do you mean there is a mouse in your room?" the waiter asked, "Aha!, yes, now I remember the word, it is mouse" the guy said.
