尺度即尺和度，尺是尺寸，度是程度。

尺是具体的，多大的size，是XXL，还是XXXXL，看得见，摸得着。

度是抽象的，所以经常听到“要把握一个度”。

尺度对应的单词是Scale。

其本义是：the size or level of something, or the amount that something is happening.

Examples：

We had underestimated the scale of the problem. 我们低估了问题的严重性。

There has been housing development on a massive scale since 1980. 自1980年以来一直在大规模地进行住宅开发。

A structural survey revealed the full scale of the damage. 结构检验揭示了实际受损程度。
