偶然翻到前年做自由译者时的试译稿，医疗、化学、机械、市场、法律……统统都有，索性决定选取一部分进行剖析，分享给大家。
今天要奉上的是：看起来深奥、专业的医学临床研究翻译。
首先是标题的翻译：
An open-label uncontrolled, multicenter study for the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of the dermal filler Princess® VOLUME in the treatment of nasolabial folds
临床研究标题大多采用这种结构，别看这么长一串，只要理清结构和要素，便可举一反三。
open-label：开放标签、开放性。
uncontrolled：非对照。Control 在试验、研究中为“对照”的意思，翻译成“控制”就暴露出译员缺乏背景知识。同理，controlled，翻译成“对照”。
multicenter study：多中心研究。
Evaluation：评估、评价。
dermal filler：皮下填充剂。
nasolabial folds：鼻唇沟皱褶。
Treatment：一般翻译为“治疗”，结合语境，这里翻译成“矫正”搭配“鼻唇沟皱褶”会使译文更加专业、地道。
译文：
一项旨在评估皮下填充剂 Princess® VOLUME 矫正鼻唇沟皱褶的有效性与安全性的开放标签、非对照、多中心研究
接下来正文部分：
The dermal filler Princess® VOLUME is a highly cross- linked, viscoelastic hyaluronic acid injectable gel implant used for aesthetic treatment.
viscoelastic hyaluronic acid injectable gel implant：粘弹性透明质酸可注射凝胶植入剂，这类专业术语需要多查证。
aesthetic treatment：美容修复。
highly cross- linked, viscoelastic hyaluronic acid injectable gel implant used for aesthetic treatment均为Princess® VOLUME的修饰词。
如果翻译成“皮下填充剂 Princess® VOLUME 是一种高度交联的粘弹性透明质酸可注射凝胶植入剂，用于美容修复。”意思正确，但是语句结构比较散，读起来缺乏气势。
这种情况下，不妨将修饰词融合在一起，用逗号隔开，一气呵成。
译文：皮下填充剂 Princess® VOLUME 是一种用于美容修复、高度交联的粘弹性透明质酸可注射凝胶植入剂。
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Princess® VOLUME, 48 subjects with moderate to deep wrinkles, according to the Modified Fitzpatrick Wrinkle Scale (MFWS) were recruited at 3 study sites in Austria. 93.8% of subjects were female and the median age was 52 years.
Modified Fitzpatrick Wrinkle Scale (MFWS)：改良的 Fitzpatrick 皱纹分型 (MFWS)。
study sites：研究中心，注意翻译为 3 家研究中心比 3 个研究中心更地道。
median age：中值年龄。Median在临床研究中出现较多，Median Survival Time 中位生存期。
译文：为评估 Princess® VOLUME 的有效性与安全性，根据改良的 Fitzpatrick 皱纹分型 (MFWS)，在位于奥地利的 3 家研究中心招募了 48 名有中度至重度皱纹的受试者。93.8% 的受试者为女性，中值年龄为 52 岁。
Subjects received Princess® VOLUME in both nasolabial folds (NLFs) at Day 0. The severity of NLFs was evaluated at 30, 90, 180 and 270 days after treatment, using the MFWS and the global aesthetic improvement scale (GAIS).
both nasolabial folds (NLFs)：双侧鼻唇沟褶皱 (NLF)。
Received：一般翻译为接受、接受……给药，结合语境，这里翻译为“注射”更准确。
global aesthetic improvement scale (GAIS)：面部整体美容效果改善分级 (GAIS)。
using：采用、利用、通过，根据语境选择用词。
译文：第 0 天，受试者的双侧鼻唇沟褶皱 (NLF) 均注射 Princess® VOLUME。矫正后的第 30 天、第 90 天、第 180 天和第 270 天，通过 MFWS 和面部整体美容效果改善分级 (GAIS) 评估 NLF 的严重程度。
MFWS scores had improved significantly (p<0.0001) at 30, 180 and 270 days after treatment compared with baseline, with a mean decrease, respectively, of 1.484 (+/- 0.408), 1.309 (+/- 0.37) and 1.223 (+/- 0.401). Hence, the primary endpoint was achieved and clinical efficacy was demonstrated. Figures 1 and 2 show a subject at baseline and 9 months after treatment with Princess® VOLUME.
compared with baseline：较基线，临床研究翻译中十分常见。
clinical efficacy：临床疗效。
Show：所示为。
Achieved、demonstrated，一般想到的是翻译成“达到了”、“证实了”，但“了”用得太多，会影响译文可读性，处理成“成功达到”、“得到证实”可以巧妙地避开这一点。
译文：矫正后的第 30 天、第 180 天、第 270 天，MFWS 评分较基线均有明显改善 (p<0.0001)，平均值分别下降 1.484 (+/- 0.408)、1.309 (+/- 0.37) 以及 1.223 (+/- 0.401)。因此，成功达到主要终点，临床疗效得到证实。图 1 和图 2 所示分别为基线时的受试者以及采用 Princess® VOLUME 矫正后 9 个月的受试者。
For the majority of subjects, nasolabial fold appearance based on GAIS was judged as 'much improved' by the investigator at all visits compared to Day 0 (Figure3).
Subjects：受试者。

A total of 24 AEs were reported in 15 (31.3%) subjects. Injection site hema- toma and injection site swelling (of mild to moderate severity) were the most frequently reported AEs.
AE：不良事件，Adverse Event。
injection site hema-toma：注射部位血肿。
injection site swelling：注射部位肿胀。
frequently reported：最常见的、最常报告的。
译文：15 名 (31.3%) 受试者总共报告了 24 例不良事件。注射部位血肿和注射部位肿胀（严重程度为轻度至中度）为最常见的不良事件。
