1. Thousands of employees in the UK will begin a four-day work week this week, as part of the world's biggest trial of the new working pattern.

They will receive 100% of their pay for working 80% of their usual hours, in exchange for maintaining 100% of their productivity. https://t.co/88CdehNkUq

2. The trial, which will last for a six month period, will involve 3,300 employees from 70 companies.

The companies involved include software developers, financial service providers, recruitment firms, charities and a fish-and-chip restaurant.

3. It is being run by not-for-profit community 4 Day Week Global, in partnership with the thinktank Autonomy, the 4 Day Week Campaign and experts from Cambridge University, Oxford University and Boston College.

UK firms begin world's biggest four-day week trial - with no loss of pay https://t.co/z0dTzY9VZt

4 day work week trial with 100% of pay begins in England… Iceland already tried this with no drop in productivity… this is a win win for everyone if England succeeds as well… why should people work their lives away

Issue should be moving towards performance based on results, actual work done, not how much time is spent in the office (where one may or may not be doing anything productive).

This is ridiculous.  If you're going to work a 4 day week then you should be working 10 hours per day in order to maintain 40hrs a week. I did it in 1990, and it was heaven. In this study all employers are losing money. Makes no sense whatsoever.
