伍立曼的青春

青春不是人生的一段时光，

青春是心情的一种状况。

青春不是柔美的膝，

朱红的唇，

粉嫩的面庞。

青春是鲜明的情感，

丰富的想像，

向上的愿望，

像泉水一样的清冽和激扬。

青春是勇敢战胜了怯懦，

冒险代替了苟安，

这种心情在二十岁所有的，

常不如五十之中年。

岁月并不能使人老迈，

使人老迈的是舍弃了理想与信念。

无情的日月可以使皮肤松弛下来，

而使灵魂颓唐的，却只有热情上的认败。

疑虑与困惑，

恐惧与绝望，

失去了自信与对未来的想象，

才真正是日月循环的折磨。

压低了头，压弯了背，

把精神带上死亡。

不论是七十，或是十七，

每个人都有些对世间的好奇，

天上的星光，无限神秘，

哲人的思维，别开天地，

四面围来的挑战，

古今堆起的难题，

使人像孩子一样追问、探索，

像孩子一样的补藏、捉迷，

像孩子一样的，在游戏中，

带来狂喜。

你的信仰象征着你的年轻，

你的疑虑表现了你的齿增，

你的希翼描绘出你的茁壮，

你的绝望刻画出你的颓龄。

在你心中有一座电台，

大地上优美的、勇敢的、有力的声音

从八方播来，

只要你收听这些青春的消息，

那么你的青春即是存在。当电台的天线一旦塌坏，

讥讽的冰和悲观的雪

在你的心灵上层层覆盖。

那么你的青春真已逝去，

你的年龄确已老迈。

Younth is not entirely a time of life. –

it is a state of mind. It is not wholly a matter of ripe cheeks, red lips, or supple knees.

It is a temper of will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions.

　　Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years.

People grow old only by deserting their ideals.

You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt;

as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fears;

as young as your hope, as old as your despair.
