Project management is the discipline of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals. To create a business project and assure its success, the most important aspect of the management is stakeholder management, because all projects, whatever they are, affect or are related to other people, more or less, within a specific circumstance. Project stakeholders are defined as all individuals or groups who have an active stake in the project and can potentially impact, either positively or negatively, its development. Project Stakeholder analysis is a useful tool for demonstrating some of the seemingly irresolvable conflicts that occur through a new project. It compels firms to acknowledge the potentially wide-ranging effect that their actions can have, both intended and unintended, on various stakeholder groups. Project Management includes six specific steps as follows: 1. Identifying project stakeholders, including external stakeholders as clients, competitors, suppliers, intervener groups: environmental, political, and social groups; and internal stakeholders as top management, accountings, functional managers, project team members, etc. 2. Assess the environment. Gather information on stakeholders, identify stakeholder’s mission, determine stakeholders’ strengths and weaknesses, identify stakeholder strategy, and predict stakeholder behavior. 3. Identify the goals of principal actors. 4%%. Assess your own capabilities 5. Develop solutions: creating an action-plan to address the needs of the various stakeholder groups. Do political homework prior to developing solutions. 6. Implement stakeholder management strategy. Test and refine the solutions.
