感想
5.The Audience
第四章作者提到写作要BE YOURSELF,那么,Who am I writing for?很简单,FOR YOURSELF。
不要试图去迎合大众口味,第一,众口难调,there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes;第二,观众也想看些新东西。写作主要是取悦自己,想感动别人首先得感动自己。
作者在前文提到,观众读不下是写作者的锅,这是技术层面的,因为你写不好,所以人家读不下去,这是你的问题,不是读者的问题。但是如果大家三观不同无法交流,那这种读者流失了就流失,就好像交朋友一样,道不同不相为谋,做你自己,表达自己的观点,写自己的文字,让别人说去吧。

这章讲用词。不要用陈词滥调。你想写什么样的文章,去找写这类型的作者,学习他们是如何写作的。养成查字典的习惯,不懂就查!学习词源、其他释义、和近义词之间的差别,都能让你更好地掌握这个单词。作者推荐Webster's New World Dictionary和Roget's Thesaurus. 除此之外,朗读所写文字也是帮助写作的好方法。

1、be in the mood to do sth
想要做某事,有心情做某事
be in a mood是发脾气的意思。
Now I’m saying you must write for yourself and not be gnawed by worry over whether the reader is tagging along.
2、tag along
尾随 to follow closely; go along or about as a follower:
>to tag after someone; to tag along behind someone.
In terms of craft, there’s no excuse for losing readers through sloppy workmanship.
3、workmanship
the art or skill of a workman or workwoman.
和craft是近义词。
or feels an affinity for your sense of humor or your vision of life
4、affinity
喜爱 a natural liking for or attraction to a person, thing, idea, etc.
How can you think carefully about not losing the reader and still be carefree about his opinion?
