Remember some words and phrases

To promote：To promote something means to let people know about it and encourage them to buy it.

Example：

1、The writer was promoting this book on social media last week.

2、The singer is touring to promote her new album.

A character：A character is a person who presentive in a movie、play or a story.

Example：

1、The writer use very creative way to introduce the characters.

2、There are many cartoon characters on her sweater.

3、The main character in this story is amazing, but I don't like the supporting characters.

讲解：可以用main character来表示主角，而supporting character可以表示配角

Literature：literature is written words, especially those with a high and lasting value.

Example：

1、I study Chinese literature in university.

2、The teacher gave us a list of great works of classical literature.

讲解：Literature 相关的常用搭配包括classical/modern/Chinese literature（古典/现代/中国文学）

3、This is a great piece of English literature.

讲解：literature是不可数名词，因此一件文学作品需要用：a piece of literature 或者 a great work of literature来表达

A mystery：a mystery is a book,a movie or a play about crimes or strange events, and this crimes or strange events wil only be explained at the end.

Example：

1、I am reading a mystery novel I just brought.

2、Agatha Christie is my favorite mystery writer.

3、Mystery can also mean something difficult to understand or to explain.

讲解：Mystery除了表示悬疑作品之外，也可以指代神秘的事物，难以理解的事物，谜。

A romance：A romance novel is a story about love.

Example：

1、I wish I have free time to read this romance.

2、Romance can also mean love or the feeling of being in love.

讲解：Romance这个词有汗多含义。当它表示爱情故事时，是可数名词。当它表示爱意或浪漫时，是不可数名词。
