You Raise Me Up 这首歌的传唱度不必多说，很多人知道它最早出自Secret Garden，随后被无数歌手翻唱。不过，你了解更早的故事吗？
今天我们要说的不是You Raise Me Up，而是另外一首你听见会直呼似曾相识的歌：Danny Boy。
一切要从一首传统爱尔兰小调Londonderry Air（伦敦德里小调）说起。
1910年，英国作词家Frederic Weatherly为这首曲子填了词，也就是日后的Danny Boy。而You Raise Me Up最早也是一首纯音乐：Silent Story，创作灵感同样来自于Londonderry Air，之后爱尔兰作曲家Brendan Graham对此进行了填词，才有了之后的传世经典。
所以说，You Raise Me Up和Danny Boy两首歌的创作源泉相同，这也是为什么它们听起来十分相似的原因。
Danny Boy这首歌写的是一位父亲对即将从军的儿子的倾诉，旋律婉转大气，又透着化不开的哀伤。它的歌词也感人至深，值得我们细看：（歌词是自己翻译的，如有不同意见，欢迎交流。）

不得不说，“战争”这一主题催生了众多经典作品，但我希望它们永远存在于我们的记忆之中，而不是做哀伤的见证人。
