［随笔］ Lullaby

San Lang lives in a huge mansion her father gave her as a heritage after a car accident. It was known to be a haunted mansion built within the mountain. Rumour has it if you wake up in the middle of the night, you will hear weird sounds or see shadows lurking at the end of the hallways, some even says things inside the mansion being moved to a different position as before. San Lang did not take it seriously, she taught to herself these were only stories to keep the thieves away.

Until one day, she woke up in the middle of the night.

The full moon hanging in the night sky, no stars can be seen, but the moonlight shines into the hallway. San Lang realizes the huge haze outside, as her mobile phone beeped a few times with messages from unknown numbers.

“Do not ever seek for the person who sings.” Repeated in every message.

Without a second thought, she hums herself a lullaby with a calm and silent voice so that she can sleep. Then she went back to bed.

Every month when the full moon appears, San Lang receives the same message from various unknown numbers and she realizes one specific thing. Whenever she hums the lullaby, she either hears a sound following her humming or there will be something broken, like mirrors for example. At this point, San Lang already confirmed that the mansion is haunted, but in a harmless way. She feels like as long as she hums the lullaby, the entity only tries to notice her about its presence, so she always keeps a mirror in every corner of the mansion.
