去年今日此门中，

A year ago today I called on this family,

人面桃花相映红。

When the girl’s face and the peach blossoms set each other off beautifully.

人面不知何处去，

Today I have come again not knowing where the pretty girl is,

桃花依旧笑春风。

And the peach blossoms are still smiling in the spring wind.

译文

去年今日我来到这户人家，姑娘的脸庞与桃花相互映衬得更显红润。今日再来此地，姑娘却不知去向，惟有桃花依旧在春风里含笑怒放 

【注释】

1. 都城：指唐朝京城长安。

2. 人面：指姑娘的脸。第三句中“人面”指代姑娘。

3. peach [piːtʃ] 桃

4. blossom [ˋblɑsəm] 花，花簇

5. set off 映忖

6. 笑：形容桃花盛开的样子。
