古琴各部分的寓意

今天听一位大师说的，我还不知道他的名字，记录一下，希望有天能讲给外国友人听。

面板为圆，象征着天空。底板为平，象征大地。

The round panel symbolizes the sky.  The flat baseboard a representation of the earth.

十三个徽，象征着一年十二个月和每四年出现一次的闰月。

And the 13 cords for the string symbolizes the 12 months of a year and the leap month appearing every four years.

岳山代表高山，琴弦代表流水。

Mountain Yue represents the high mountains. Strings the running water.

龙池凤沼代表江和海。

While the Dragon and Phoenix Pool a symbol of rivers and seas.

天地人的关系完全从琴的身上体现出来。

Such relationships of heaven, earth and human beings are fully embodied on the instruments.
