饥饿营销星巴克推出彩虹扎染星冰乐

继续今年2月份"猫爪杯"(cat-paw mug)之后星巴克又开始饥饿营销了(饥饿营销 hunger marketing)！ 北美星巴克将推出 彩虹扎染星冰乐（Tie-Dye Frappuccino）彷如多年前的「独角兽星冰乐」，有星巴克员工透露，这款星冰乐喝起来像香蕉味的Laffy Taffy水果软糖。新款星冰乐仍然限时售卖5天，从7月10日开始发售。

Starbucks employees are preemptivelyfreaking out about a new Frappuccino set to hit menus this week.

On Wednesday, Starbucks says it will launch the Tie-Dye Frappuccino, a multicolored beverage that will be available for just five days, or as supplies last. According to Starbucks employees, the drink tastes like banana candy.

With its super-limited availability, the Tie-Dye Frappuccino follows in the footsteps of other Instagram-friendly Starbucks drinks such as the Unicorn Frappuccino and the Witch's Brew Frappuccino. And, like the aesthetically pleasing beverages that came before, the Tie-Dye Frappuccino is sparking concerns among baristas.

The person continued: "They don't give a damn about us and it's obvious."

"I'm not ready for this s--- to launch," one apparent Starbucks employee tweeted, along with a photo of the person giving a Tie-Dye Frappuccino the middle finger.

河南“殴打20年前班主任”案宣判

备受社会关注的“当街殴打20年前班主任”一案，今日（7月10日）上午，在河南省栾川县人民法院宣判，经法院审理认定，被告人常太（化名）寻衅滋事罪（provoking trouble）获刑一年六个月，当庭表示上诉（ appeal the ruling / appeal to a higher court）。

A man found guilty of disturbing public order for attacking his former middle school teacher last year, after nursing a grievance for two decades, was sentenced to 18 months in prison by a court in Luanchuan county, Henan province, on Wednesday morning.

China Central Television reported that the man, Chang Renyao, said he would appeal to a higher court.

Chang insulted his former teacher, surnamed Zhang, in July last year after seeing Zhang riding an electric bike in the county. He then slapped and punched Zhang's face, chest and belly several times in revenge for an alleged physical punishment from Zhang 20 years ago for breaching school discipline.

"Chang's behavior, venting his anger at Zhang by blocking the road, beating Zhang and posting the attack video, brought disturbances to society and seriously affected Zhang's daily life," the court said. "Given that Chang turned himself in and it was a first offense, we decided on a lenient penalty."

Apple 2019 Back to School: 

Get free Beats headphones with iPad Air, iPad Pro, or Mac purchase 

Apple has launched its 2019 Back to School deals with its typical promotion. The company will give students a free pair of Beats headphones when they buy an eligible Apple device.

For the first time, the promo includes the high-end Beats Studio 3 over-ear headphones, when buying an iMac or Mac notebook.

In addition to launching the 2019 Back to School campaign, Apple updated the MacBook Air with True Tone and the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pro features Touch ID, Touch Bar, and 8th-generation Intel CPUs. The new Air is available for $999 to students, and the new Pro starts at $1199 with education pricing.

Depending on the on purchase, students can receive a free pair of Beats Studio 3, Beats Solo 3, or BeatsX.

If buying an iPad Pro or iPad, students can choose from either free BeatsX, free Beats Solo 3 Wireless, or a $199 credit against the purchase of Beats Studio 3.

To qualify for free Beats Studio 3 headphones, education customers can purchase any Mac apart from the Mac mini. This means any iMac, iMac Pro, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air (including the new Air and Pro models announced today).

The Free Beats promotion is in addition to the usual education discounts, which let students buy Apple hardware at 5-10% below the normal retail prices.

日本开始卖鲸鱼肉

On july 1st, to the fury of conservationists around the world, Japanese whalers landed their first commercial kill for more than 30 years, a minke whale (pictured above). In 1986 the countries of the International Whaling Commission, of which Japan was one, had agreed to a moratorium on whaling. This allowed the animals to recover to sustainable numbers after several species had been driven to the brink of extinction by untrammelled hunting. Exceptions were permitted, though, for indigenous groups of hunters, such as aboriginal Alaskans, who had an established culture of whaling, and for scientists studying whale biology—a loophole Japan has exploited ever since.

Japanese whalers have killed between 200 and 1,200 of the animals every year since the moratorium, under the banner of research. Few outsiders, though, have believed that banner to be anything other than cover for trading in whale meat—a belief fostered by the fact that most of the catch has subsequently been sold for human consumption.

In December 2018 Japan’s government lost patience with the moratorium altogether and announced that it was pulling out at the end of the following June. It has set this year’s quota at 227, with minke, Bryde’s and sei whales as the permitted targets. It is worth noting that of these, only sei whales are listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List—and their numbers are increasing.
