无心剑中译泰戈尔《飞鸟集》
无心剑按:翻译《飞鸟集》,灌注了我的热情。一向喜欢泰戈尔的作品,而翻译需要字斟句酌,因此,想借此机会,更深地体味他文字的风韵。在我眼里,翻译是与文字的一种亲密接触,心灵也为此轻轻感动。我清楚,自己的译文,也难免错漏,敬请读者批评指正。
《飞鸟集》是印度诗人泰戈尔创作的诗集,它包括325首清丽的无标题小诗,首次出版于1916年。这些诗的基本题材多为极其常见事物,不外乎小草、落叶、飞鸟、星辰、河流等等。
由于诗人忠实于自己的思想,具有敏锐洞察自然、社会的能力和一支善于表达心曲的妙笔,这些形似只言片语的小诗就蕴涵了丰富的思想、深奥的哲理,表现出一种清新明快、优美隽永的风格。 《飞鸟集》在世界各地被译为多种文字版本 ,对于中国的“小诗运动”的产生与发展具有推动作用。
《飞鸟集》中表现了深层的精神追求——爱与和谐的宇宙终极原则或神,描绘自然万物的灵(神)性相通,有机一体,展现人与自然、爱与神的亲密无间、交互融溶,歌赞生命的自由、平等、博爱-从而生成了丰富隽永的人生哲理。在这里神、自然、人与爱的界限己经模糊不清了,诗人追求人与神的合一、爱与神的关系、以及神与自然的统一,渴望与神“完全合一的形象显现”,也就是要达到有限生命与无限生命的统一,就是要达到人的最高的理想境界。为此,诗中揭示,人必须完善自己的人格,要在“思想中摒除虚伪”,要驱走心中“一切的丑恶”,并且只能在“爱”中,在“爱的服务”中与神结合。诗人在诗篇中表达了人生的奉献与人生意义的追求,使诗篇充满着生机。
