Yanjiao (Chinese: 燕郊; pinyin: Yānjiāo; <small style="font-size: 11.9px; color: rgb(32, 33, 34); font-family: sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;">lit.</small> 'Yan suburbs') is a town under the administration of Sanhe City in central Hebei province,[1] bordering Tongzhou District, Beijing across the Chaobai River to the west, located 35 kilometers (22 mi) east of Tiananmen Square and 21 km (13 mi) west of Sanhe. It has a population of 250,000, with long-term residents accounting for 147,000 and migrants constituting the remainder; 97.9% of the population is of Han ethnicity.[when?][2] As of 2011, it has 55 villages under its administration.[3]
