Department meeting

Today I attended the first department meeting of the new department after the old one was merged into it last month. It seems that there will be more work and stricter rules under the supervision of the new director.

I have been expecting such a situation for a long time because my old supervisor lacked management skills in the department where I worked for the past five years. I always thought he was unqualified from that point of view. He never stood up for our interests, and we didn't face any consequences when we made mistakes. The only advantage was that I was free to do what I wanted, like learning English.

From now on, he will be supervised by the new director and will have to report to the same supervisor as me on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. I hope things will improve so that I can achieve more and grow professionally.
