Religion Article Response
The author of Punctuating Our Days wrote the article for everyone. He wants to tell people more about God and how to stay with God in our daily life. Just like punctuation helps us understand the sentences, the Liturgy of the Hours helps us to rest and recall God’s abiding presence in every facet of our lives.
The Liturgy of the Hours let us refocus on the essence of life that we won't feel only busy everyday, the life is still meaningless. We pray always, then we have more time to think about God, about life, which give our life a break of busy. In the time of Work of God, we can pray either single or with one another. Jesus encourage us to pray with one another. He said,“ Where two or three are gathered, there I am among them” (Mt 18:20).
Now we pray the psalms in the Liturgy of the Hours. It could be traced to early Christian prayed the psalms - - the ancient Hebrew songs of praise, petition, thanksgiving and lament. And they even devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. So we are not only the pray for ourselves, Holy spirit go thorough our body interceding for the entire world. Praying the psalms pulls us back to the center of our being, makes us pause and remember that God is God—and we are not. I consider it means we are not as powerful as God, thus we cannot get many things, though maybe we eager to get them. Then the author also said that people who believe in Jesus are able to accomplish whatever we do not because of the daily “interruptions” of the Divine Office. The Liturgy of the hours can help us clam down and have courage to overcome the difficult we meet, then we can accomplish things we want to do
