1127-Reflection from Coastguard
Reflection:
Courage: It requires physical fit in the first place. And my mental strength, situational awareness improved when facing challenging tasks.
Teamwork and communication: Everybody on board gets his/her own unique roles, such as helm, navigator, skipper, look-out, radio operator. The teamwork effectively only when each player did his/her job well. And it’s vital to keep information simple and clear, such as the coordinates of the location, the number/name of the boat. I learned to use the closed loop communication strategy since English is my second language.
Dedication: Attending the training every week and instead of being with family, I spent lots weekends on water for the duty day. I know I’m doing it for a good cause and this is my commitmentto the Coast Guard.
