Chinese today do not place a very high value on intellect.Our heroes are athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, not schlars.Even schools are where we send our children to get a practical education-not to pursue knowledge for the sake of knowledge.

Schools are in the society where practical is more important than intellectual.We learn technology ,practical skills ,which are thought to be the keys to success.More and more schools encourage us to reject the life of mind ,and which leaves us more vulnerable to exploitation and control.Continuing along this path,we will be a second-rate country.we will be less civil society.
