信达雅 faithfulness,expressiveness

最近打算买些翻译界泰斗许渊冲老师的翻译作品学习一下，老人已经98岁高龄了，特别是他翻译的诗词，都堪称经典。今天我学了两首： 静夜思

床前明月光，疑是地上霜。

举头望明月，低头思故乡。

Before my bed a pool of light

Can it be hoar ,frost on the ground

Looking up, I find the moon bright

Bowing, in homesickness I'm drowned.

蒹葭苍苍白露为霜

所谓伊人 在水一方

Green, green the reed

Dew and frost gleam

Where’s she I need

Beyond the stream

溯洄从之 道阻且长

溯游从之 宛在水中央

Upstream I go

the way is long

Downstream I go

She’s there among

蒹葭萋萋白露未晞

所谓伊人 在水之湄

White, white the reed

Dew not yet dried

Where’s she I need

On the other side

“When by our window can we trim the wicks again

And talk about this endless dreary night of rain”——何当共剪西窗烛，却话巴山夜雨时

      上大学时有段时间报了翻译课，最近学习强国上最新时事和领导讲话的英文也都值得记忆和学习：

        我们决不能安于现状，贪图安逸，乐而忘忧。必须不忘初心，牢记使命，奋发有为，努力创造新时代的光辉业绩！

      we must not be satisfied with the status quo,indulge ourselves in ease and comfort,or let delight dispel worries. we must stay true to our original aspiration,hold on to our mission,strive to accomplish，so as to make outstanding achievement in the new eraera.
