Apple’s chief executive(执行官Tim Cook) announced a $1 billion investment in Didi Chuxing, a ride-hailing service（打车服务） that has cornered（垄断） 87% of the market in China. Tim Cook said Apple’s stake（股份 ）should teach it more about “certain segments（类别） of the China market”. Apple wants to shore up（支持） flagging（疲软的 ）sales弥补销售疲软 there and also, it seems, to enter the car business elsewhere.
