break out （战争，火灾，打斗等不愉快的事情）突然开始，爆发

Fire broke out during the night. 火灾在夜里爆发。（没有被动）

break into 打断；强行进入，闯入；

break into the house 闯入房子

break in 打断，插嘴

Don't break in when others are talking. 别人说话的时候别插嘴。

pick

pick up 捡起，拾起；（开车）接，取走；（不费力地或不经意间）学会

pick up his cap  捡起他的帽子

pick me up at the airport 在机场接我

I picked up some French when I was in France. 当我在法国的时候，我学会了一点法语。

pick out 辨认出，分辨出；挑出，选出

I can't pick out these words. 我辨认不出这些文字。

I will pick out three books for you. 我将选出三本书给你。

go out 外出交际，外出娱乐；（灯，燃烧物）熄灭

I am going out tonight. 今晚上我要出去玩儿。

The light goes out. 灯灭了。（没有被动）

The fire went out last night. 昨晚上火灭了。（没有被动）

go off 对……不再喜欢，对……失去兴趣；（爆炸装置）爆炸，开火；（电器设备）停止运转

go off him 不再喜欢他了

go off the idea 对这个想法失去兴趣

A bomb went off last night. 昨天晚上一个炸弹爆炸了。（没有被动）

The lights went off. 灯都灭了。（等于go out ）

go over 仔细检查；复习

You should go over carefully before you hand in the exam paper. 交卷前你应该仔细检查

go through 经历，经受（尤指苦难或艰难时期）；通读，彻查

He is going through a very hard time. 他正处于非常艰难的时期。

think over 仔细考虑，认真思考

She needs time to think it over. 她需要时间仔细考虑。

think about sb/sth 考虑到，关心，替……着想

think about other people 替别人着想

pay back 偿还；报复

I will pay you back 100 yuan. 我将还你100块钱。

hear of 听说（某人，某事，某地等等）

I have never heard of that place. 我从没听说过那个地方。

hear from sb 收到某人的信件，得到某人的消息

I have never heard from her since then. 从那时起，我再也没她的消息了。
