Yunnan province stands in southwestern China and serves as a major channel connecting China, Southeast Asia and South Asia thanks to its close proximity to countries in those regions. In addition to unique geographic location, it possesses abundant resources, enabling conditions and a strong industrial foundation for the development of modern agriculture, green energy and tourism - all these factors point to Yunnan’s ample space and potential for development. As a Chinese saying goes, “Nothing, not even mountains and oceans, can separate people with shared goals and vision”. Two thousand years ago, the southern Silk Road brought Yunnan and the wider world together. Today, a more open Yunnan stands ready to enhance cooperation with other countries on trade, people-to-people exchange, tourism and environmental protection.
