Myth 1:  not pay too much attention to meaningless words

Myth 2:  you should read more than once and lean to selective reading( test yourself , lean ideas, how to use)

Myth 3:  you don't need to read every pages of the book, just read those meet your purpose or you think worth spending time in

Myth 4:  you should concern with how quickly you can locate the facts and ideas, not how fast you can read

Myth 5: it is not your eyes to be blamed for reading slowly ,  if you give up the habit of sound out words, you will read much faster

Steps to follow in skimming for the main ideas:

do not miss headings and key words( cause results effects) and signal words( versus, pros and cons) and the title of the chapter and repetition
