Book Two Unit Eighty-one
To obtain the guard's clothes, the prisoner of the war killed him and rapidly changed
into his clothers in the bushes. Now, the prisoner dressed up as a guard was marching
boldly up and down in front of the camp. He could hear shouting and see lights blazing
in the camp itself as a prisoner had been spotted getting away from the camp. At that
moment, a large black car with four officers inside it, stopped at the camp gate. The
officers got out and the prisoner stood to attention and saluted as they passed. When
they had gone, the elderly driver with grey hair and clear blue eyes came towards him. The old driver had no sooner came near than he was knocked flat by the prisoner.
Then, jumping into the car, the prisoner drove off as quickly as he could do.
